The reconstruction of the waste water treatment plant in Tervel has been completed, the site was accepted by the state reception committee at the end of September, the municipality announced.
The local administration reminds that the renovated facility is the second phase of the project to improve the water cycle in the city, which is implemented with the financial support of the Operational Program “Environment”. The site of the city’s old non-working water treatment plant was used for the reconstruction.
Almost BGN 5 million excluding VAT were invested in the construction, provided by the operational program. 5% of the funds are the Tervel municipality’s own contribution.
The 12-month period for establishing defects of the constructed facility is currently running. The indicators of all processes, which are reported by the automated system, are monitored and, if necessary, changes are made to the equipment settings. The data from the laboratory samples are also monitored.
A new service building was built within the project. The facility includes a cycled bioreactor, a temporary sludge storage area, an inlet pump station, a mechanical treatment and dewatering building, and more. Five people are already working at the site, and the monitoring of the facilities is 24/7, according to the municipal administration.
