On July 27 of this year with the participation of the regional governor Eli Todorova, who is also the chairman of the Silistra Water and Sewer Association, the opening of the City Wastewater Treatment Plant in the city of Tutrakan took place. The water consecration as an Orthodox ritual, performed by Father Yordan Tonkov from the Ruse Diocese, was attended by the regional deputy manager Mincho Yordanov, the chairman of the Tutrakan OBS Nehat Kantarov, representatives of the companies that implemented the project, etc. Part of the opening was also the closing press conference, held with a presentation in the Tutrakan Ritual House.
The project belongs to the municipality of the same name with mayor Dr. Dimitar Stefanov, according to whom the struggle with the institutions for its implementation took ten years to start with the first sod in 2019 and end this year. “ViK” OOD Silistra is an associate partner of the venture, and its total value is over BGN 32 million. With them, in addition to the facility built on 8 decares near the Danube river, parts of the sewage and water supply network along five streets in the city.
